The HSI Prayer Chain

Over a hundred members of the HSI Prayer Team "on-ground" commenced a six month long chain fast at 0000 hrs on April 28, 2006 as a signal of intent that we were going to make determined efforts to change the world, rather than simply throw our hands up and say we couldn't do anything. [See: Call to Revolution]

Within a few hours, members from the 1000+ HSI Global Prayer Circle, started joining in. In a touching - and extremely warm display of Christian brotherhood, other prayer groups around the world, some as far away as Canada, signalled their willingness to be part of this too.

Children, some as young as six years old also affirmed their participation, opting for one of the easier shifts. Most heartening, however, was the response by non-Christians who also have said they would join us in the fast. It is clear that everybody wants God's Kingdom established on earth.

We invite you to participate as well. It isn't difficult. The chain is divided into three shifts. Simply pick a shift that you find most suitable. We recommend at least one shift a week, and a maximum of seven shifts a week (one a day). E-mail if you wish to let us know of your participation (optional).

  • Shift 1: 0200 hrs to 1000 hrs (2 am to 10 am)
  • Shift 2: 1000 hrs to 1800 hrs (10 am to 6 pm)
  • Shift 3: 1800 hrs to 0200 hrs (6 pm to 2 am)
