Pekahiah
Pekahiah ascended the throne, succeeding his father Menahem, as Israel slid rapidly towards anarchy and extermination. Two years into his reign, he met his end in a military coup. One of his chief officers, Pekah, conspired against him. Taking fifty men of Gilead with him, he assassinated Pekahiah in the citadel of the royal palace at Samaria, and succeeded him as king.
